Sandwich Panel Roofs for Terraces and Porches
A sandwich panel roof is a fixed roof made of two metal sheets with polyurethane insulation in between. It keeps out heat and noise, and the panels interlock so the rain stays out. We fit it on an aluminium or coated iron frame, on terraces, porches and business premises.
What it is made of
Each panel has a metal sheet on both faces and polyurethane between them. The panels are tongue and groove: they slot into one another and leave the roof watertight. They are fixed with sealing washers, which speed up the fitting without losing any insulation. They are coated in the RAL colour you choose.
Closing in the sides
The sides can be closed with wall panels in the same material or with vertical awnings.
Fixed roof or opening roof
A sandwich panel roof does not open: it gives shade and keeps the rain off all year. If you want a roof you can open, look at the bioclimatic pergola or the waterproof retractable pergola.

Frequently asked questions
Does a sandwich panel roof get hot in summer?
No. The polyurethane core insulates, and underneath it is much cooler than under a single metal sheet or polycarbonate.
Does rain get in?
The tongue and groove panels and the sealing washers keep the roof watertight, provided it has the right slope.
What is the frame made of?
Aluminium or coated iron, in different sizes depending on the area to cover.
Does it need a permit?
Because it is a fixed roof, the town hall will normally ask for a permit or prior notification, and in an apartment building you need the agreement of the community of owners. We advise you on it.
Can it match the colour of the house?
Yes, it can be coated in any RAL colour.
How is it different from a bioclimatic pergola?
A sandwich panel roof is fixed and insulates. A bioclimatic pergola opens and closes its louvres so you choose how much light comes in.
