A wall to fix it to
A retractable awning or a cassette awning opens out from the facade. The cassette keeps the fabric and arms in a box when closed, which pays off on an exposed terrace near the sea.
No wall, or a large open terrace
A pergola awning stands on its own posts, so it can go in the middle of a roof terrace or by the pool.
Low sun from the side
A vertical awning drops in front of the terrace and cuts the evening sun without closing the view.
Terraces of second homes
If the house is empty for weeks, an electric awning with a wind sensor closes itself when the wind picks up. Awning fabrics have a 5-year guarantee against fading, and the installation has a 3-year guarantee.

What is the best awning for a sea-facing terrace?
Usually a cassette awning: when it is closed, the box protects the fabric and arms from salt and sun, so it lasts longer.
Do I need permission for a terrace awning?
Only if the terrace is part of the facade of a building. Then the community of owners has to approve it, and it sometimes sets the colour and model. On the terrace of a detached house you usually do not need it. We check it with you at the home visit.
How much does a terrace awning cost?
It depends on the width and projection you need, the system (cassette, retractable, pergola or vertical), the fabric and whether you add a motor and wind sensor. We measure the terrace and give you a fixed written quote, with no obligation.
