Toldos Costa Blanca technicians fitting red fabric to an awning profile in the Elche workshop

Awning Repair on the Costa Blanca

If your awning will not open, has stopped halfway, has a dropped arm or torn fabric, our technical service repairs it. We fix awnings of any brand, whether we installed them or not, as long as compatible spare parts exist. We tell you honestly whether it is worth repairing or better to replace it.

What we repair

New fabric

When the fabric has faded, torn or stretched, we replace only the fabric and keep the frame. We make it to measure in acrylic or PVC, in the colour you want or the one your community of owners requires.

Arms and springs

An arm bent by the wind, a broken internal strap or springs that no longer hold the tension. We replace the part without touching the rest. Do not try to take an arm apart yourself: the springs are under a lot of tension and it is the repair with the highest risk of injury.

Motor, remote and limit settings

The awning that does not respond, stops halfway or has one side arriving before the other. We reprogramme the remote, adjust the limit settings or replace the tubular motor without replacing the awning. And if it is manual, we can motorise it.

Fixings and brackets

If the awning bounces or you see play in the wall brackets, stop using it and call us: it is the most serious fault. We re-anchor it with chemical anchors or spreader plates, depending on the type of wall.

Annual service

Cleaning, greasing the pivot points, retightening the fixings and adjusting the tension. On the coast, best done every year before summer.

Repair or replace the awning?

Repairing almost always pays off for fabric, motors, arms and adjustments. If the frame is corroded and the fixings are damaged, a new awning is sometimes the better option. As a rule of thumb, if the repair comes to more than 50-60 % of the cost of an equivalent awning and yours is already many years old, it usually makes sense to replace it. We tell you plainly in the quote.

How to request a repair

  1. Tell us in the form what is wrong with the awning, what type it is and where it is. If you can, send us photos on WhatsApp using the button in the corner: they help us a great deal with the diagnosis.

  2. We call you and, if needed, a technician comes to see it.

  3. We give you a written quote before touching anything.

  4. We repair it at your home or in our Elche workshop, depending on the fault.

Faults you can check before calling

If the motor does not respond, change the battery in the remote and wait 15 or 20 minutes: the thermal cut-out may have tripped. If the fabric has pockets of water, extend it so it dries. Anything else is best left to a technician.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Do you repair awnings you did not install?

Yes, of any brand, as long as compatible spare parts exist or parts can be adapted.

How much does it cost to replace awning fabric?

It depends on the size and the fabric. We give you the price in writing once we know the width, the projection and the type of awning.

Can just the motor be replaced?

Yes. The tubular motor sits inside the roller tube and can be replaced without touching the rest of the awning.

My electric awning works on and off. What is wrong with it?

Most often it is the thermal cut-out: after several operations in a row the motor stops for a few minutes. If it happens after a single use, or more and more often, it needs checking.

The wind has bent one of the arms. Can it be fixed?

Almost always: we replace the arm or the internal strap. Do not take it apart yourself, the springs are under a lot of tension.

How often should an awning be serviced?

Once a year, ideally before summer, and more so on the seafront.
